The Los Angeles based composer and conductor Townsend Losey serves as the Assistant Conductor of the Los Angeles Chamber Choir and the Artistic Director of Ensoma Creative, which he founded in 2014. In the spring of 2019, Townsend conducted the combined forces of Ensoma Creative, Los Angeles Chamber Choir and orchestra in a performance of Handel’s Dixit Dominus with soloists Anna Schubert, Elissa Johnston, Niké St. Clair, Jon Lee Keenan, and Chung Uk Lee. For the past four years, he conducted the La Verne Heights Presbyterian Community Choir and Lyra Chamber Orchestra in performances of sacred choral/orchestral masterworks. He has also served as Choir Director at La Verne Heights Presbyterian Church and First Baptist Church of Pasadena.

As a freelance composer, Townsend workshops and composes for choral ensembles, soloists and chamber ensembles. He recently released a short film of Suspicions, a virtuosic and quirky composition for solo piano, with collaborators Joel Clifft, Steven Bailey, and Héctor Vega. He also performs as a vocalist with Los Angeles Chamber Choir, Los Robles Master Chorale, and The Other Reindeer Carolers.

Townsend attained a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition from Azusa Pacific University, where he studied with Michelle Jensen, Phil Shackleton, and Joel Clifft.
